Hunan province is a big agricultural area. The foundation of revitalizing the economy is developing agriculture. The development of any industry is inseparable from the reserve and improvement of human resources. Developing the new rural and the new agriculture needs farmers who are living in the new period. As the second largest economy in Hunan Province, Yueyang plays an important role in promoting economy. It is available to study the present situation, problems and resolutions of vocational education in rural Yueyang to promote the development of Yueyang and Hunan economy.Taking Yueyang area as an example, the aim of this paper is to study the present situation, problems and solutions of rural vocational education in Hunan. First of all, students from the secondary vocational schools from Yueyang rural areas and farmers are interviewed as the main research object, and giving consideration to the government, enterprises, teachers and other groups. Through questionnaire, interview, field investigation and other methods, the present situation and the results of rural vocational education in Yueyang areas are analyzed. Secondly, based on the research results, the problems are analyzed on rural vocational education in Yueyang area. Namely, personnel training and local economic are not combined with tight; professional is not obvious under "big professional but small type of work"; hardware building fail to meet teaching needs; teachers structure is unreasonable, lack of qualified teachers and the form is single, lack of enterprise participation. Finally, Countermeasures are put forward such as making clear the orientation of talent cultivation to serve the rural areas; creating professional characteristics connected with local economic; taking a variety of forms of running schools to meet the needs of rural education; exerting the effect of county-level Vocational Education Center to achieve quality resource sharing and building a new model of cooperation between school and enterprises.
