The modern civilization syndrome is becoming much more popular, and public leisure era is coming, which makes leisure and health problem have aroused widespread concern from all over the world. As a special group in contemporary society, urban women have been suffering from the double pressure of work and family life, which poses a great threat to their health. Attention to urban women’s health and leisure life provides a broad space for Therapeutic Recreation service. Based on specific space or place, therapeutic recreation space tries to stimulate therapists’ initiative and customers’ cognition, uses service intervention to achieve the goals of rehabilitation, and coordinates the relationship between space environment, social technology, human health and leisure behavior, which corresponds to the main content of behavior geography, and brings new life for human geography research. In western countries, therapeutic recreation service began in the early20th century, started to been great concern by scholars in the1960s, and has gradually become a hot research topic of leisure and related humanities. Research abroad often lays much emphasis on the theory and model of therapeutic recreation. The object of the research abroad is always composed of special groups, such as the disabilities, mental retardation, serious illness, the elderly, children and so on. While the study on therapeutic recreation in our country is still in the exploratory stage and little attention has been paid to the construction and practical application of the model of therapeutic recreation.Therefore, this article tries to build a service intervention model of therapeutic recreation by taking health diagnosis, project participation, efficacy assessment and leisure education as the implementation steps to serve as a framework for therapeutic recreation practice, based on large numbers of literature review and related research at home and abroad.. Participants include143VIP female clients from27Showyu Therapeutic Recreation Institutions in Fuzhou who represents a variety of Urban Women. This study utilizes the established service intervention model to quantitatively evaluate and qualitatively analyst women’s sub-health status and the effects of service intervention from four aspects:the diagnosis of sub-health status, participation of leisure projects, efficacy assessment after service intervention, leisure education and service development. This study explores the construction and application of the service intervention model of therapeutic recreation, and how service intervention offered in therapeutic recreation place effects sub-health status of urban women.The research not only exerts a significant breakthrough in the traditional patterns of therapeutic recreation abroad which make the patients or elderly people as the object, but also brings important theoretical and practical significance to therapeutic recreation research in our country. In addition, the study explores how the human environment and human interventions in specific place effect sub-health status of urban women, which will further expand the theme of behavior geography research and content of human geography research.
