A Survey On The Current Situation Of Junior High School Students’ Data Literacy

With the advent of the era of big data, data literacy has become one of the basic qualities in the contemporary. It requires that students and citizens need to have good data literacy.Data literacy level of junior high school student is the purpose of this paper. First, I use the method of literature review to comb the research content about data literacy at home and abroad, thus defining the meaning of data literacy and making15evaluation indexs for data literacy in this paper. After that, I use the method of questionnaire investigation and education statistics to surveying, coding and analyzing data literacy level of junior high school student.Survey found that when junior middle school students answer the questions, most of them can only contact with a single data to solve the problem. The relationship between the multiple isolated data is not found. They often answered part of the problems. Therefore, this investigation showed that the level of the conscious of data is weak in general, and the level of the processing of data is uneven on the whole, and the level of communication of data is not high generally in junior high school. In a word, data literacy level of junior high school student is in Uni-structural level.Finally, combining with the results of the study, I give some reasonable suggestions from the perspective of teaching strategies for junior high school student to improve their data literacy level.
