Investigation On The Present Development Of Basketball In High School Of Jiangyin City

Since the basketball curriculum entered the classroom of middle school, it has beenwell received by the teenager students. The main purpose of offering the basketball coursein middle school is to develop students’ interest in physical training and enhance physicaland mental health of students. It enhances the physical fitness and motor skills, shapes thepractitioner’s body shape, at the same time, it also enhances the team cooperation,promotes mutual exchanges, and trains a good quality of moral practice. Through thequestionnaire survey, interview and the research, in aspects of the class teacher, basketballcurriculum in senior high schools in Jiangyin, basketball competitions, extracurricularbasketball activities, basketball culture and sport equipment etc, we have draw thefollowing conclusions：First, the proportion of high school basketball professional PE teachers in Jiangyincity is low, The basketball training level is relatively low and there are less continuingeducation or training opportunities for teachers, not to be effectively improved; thesehinder the normal development of the school basketball movement.Second, basketball teaching time of Jiangyin City High Schools is less, and theteaching mode, the teaching method and the teaching idea lack innovation; Assessmentmethod of basketball course is relatively single.Third, most schools leaders in Jiangyin city do not attach importance to sports training,competition, and invest less funds on sports training; Most of the students’ parents don’tallow their children to participate in basketball, which has seriously hindered theenthusiasm of the students’ participating in basketball sports.This paper suggests that the smooth progress in jiangyin city high school basketballshould do as follows： 1.To strengthen the construction of the professional basketball sports teachers,continuing education or training of communication ways, strengthening their level ofbasketball teaching and training level, making the basketball sports teaching quality andtraining of teachers to further improve the level. Increase the funds investment to improvethe level of basketball court, the construction of the equipment.2. Unify high school basketball teaching outline to strengthen the rationalization,diversification of high school basketball course, and improve the quality of education. Thediversification of teaching methods should be adopted, conforming to the students’physical and mental development and ability to accept.3.Each high school in Jiangyin should set up perfect basketball personnel trainingsystem with the help of relevant department and the town’s support. Strengthen thepropaganda to carry out multi-level forms of basketball competitions. And high schoolsshould also improve the system of competition in order to promote the basketballextracurricular activities and various kinds of basketball game.
