Currently, the difficult employment for the sports major graduates in Hebei Province isno longer in doubt. If over time, it will result in serious social problems. Analyzing thereasons for the current situation and exploring the solutions have become the top imperativein the development of sports specialty education in Hebei province. In the view of scientificdevelopment, by means of literature consultation, investigation and other research methods,this thesis investigated the leaders, professional teachers, sports major campus students of6sports universities and departments which all open P.E. specialty and social sports specialtyat the same time and middle school P.E. teachers, middle school students and their parents inHebei Province,. The investigation ranges from school-running scale, employment rate,enrolment plan, school-running concept, teaching ideas, curriculum provision, the selectivebasis of the content of curriculum, and the demand of campus students in physical educationspecialty for knowledge and skills, ability requirement of middle schools for their P.E.teachers to the pursuit of the value for school sports and community sports from middleschool students and their parents, etc. The purpose is to understand the present situation ofHebei higher sports specialty education in above aspects and analyze it in the view ofscientific development, finding out the existing problems and putting forward the solutions.According to the questionnaires and reinvestigations on present situation of Hebei sportsspecialty education, the following is the conclusions:1) The leaders from6sports faculties inHebei agreed that the school-running scale of sports specialty education has exceeded thedegree of social accommodation and it’s hard for graduates to be employed. The currentsituation fully explained that Hebei province hasn’t had sufficient consideration on thescientific development of sports specialty education in the past ten years.2) The officials ofsports faculties in Hebei province have good school-running concept, but the life pressuresmake them hard to run their schools according to their correct concept. Even so, most leadersstill have positive thinking about reform measures.3) On training mode, most investigatedfaculties are using traditional patterns, curriculum provision and content, and their teachingmethods are in lack of social demand surveys, which will inevitably lead to power shortage ofthe development of science.4) The teaching concept of the specialized teachers in sports faculties is lacking in cultivation for the students’ application abilities. Their teaching contentand teaching purposes are too focused on the direct content of courses, short of cultivation inmethods and application abilities for the students.5) The faculties’ leaders, middle school P.E.teachers and the students’ parents believe that organizational capability is the most essentialability for sports work in schools and communities.6) Their favorite learning approach intheory classes for sports specialty campus students is the topic discussion; and their favoriteteachers in technical lessons are those who are skilled in explanation. Throughout the wholetraining process, they think social practice is the most helpful for them in their employment.7)Sports specialty students’ options for their future jobs mainly focus on schools andadministrations. The reason leading them to narrow their job options is that---although thereexists immense space for sports demands, social division of labor doesn’t offer them clearworking posts.8) The most direct value pursuit of middle school students and their parentsfor school P.E. and community sports work is to enhance their physical quality, ease theirlearning and working pressure and gain pleasure from sports. This should be the scientificbasis for P.E. specialty education to conduct specialty and curriculum construction.According to the present conditions, the author put forward the following suggestions:1)Reluctantly face the reality that the scale of Hebei sports specialty education has exceeded thesocial accommodation level. Schools and sports faculties should actively adjust the enrolmentplan.2) Provide sports faculties’ specialized teachers with work space and clear workingposts by means of enforcing mass sports work so as to solve their worries about “survival”.3)Specialty construction and development must be based on scientific development, payingattention to social investigation and adjust the curriculum provision, course content, teachingmethods and cultivation modes based on social demands.4) The basic way of the content ofsports work is practical operations. According to this characteristic, the cultivation ofstudents’ practical abilities is supposed to get strengthened especially in the process ofteaching and training. Advance and extend the term of social practice to make the knowledgeand skills of sports graduates in line with the needs of society.5) Adhere to the scientificdevelopment concept of seeking truth from facts to open new majors of sports discipline.Firstly, depend on the results of social investigation. Secondly, base on the unit’s ability toavoid coaxing and repeating the mistakes of old majors.6) Government department should study relevant policies adapting to the needs of society, set up “sports instructor” system incommunities, factories, mines and administrations, military hospitals and other enterprisesand institutions, etc; not only to make the social potential needs specific jobs, but also toimplement the “national fitness program”; at last solving the employment problems of sportsgraduates fundamentally.
