In recent years, the educational value of the classics is increasing appreciated. It isrealized that the classics are recording the highest wisdom of a nation and carrying the greatthoughts of the great ancient minds. It is also realized that classical reading is supplementaryto the current education which is lack of humanistic elements. Recently classical reading hasbeen stepping into school education with promotion for the classical reading.And more andmore school join in the classical reading from kindergarten to university. Although classicalreading is still in its early stage, there are quite some issues to be addressed, in both theoryand practice. Despite the dispute on it, it is necessary to carry on the researches. In this paper,classical reading is discussed focusing on “primary education”, searching classical reading. Inthe case study, the education management is examined and the purposes, contents, methodsand approaches are discussed. In addition, several constructive recommendations are putforward to improve classical reading education.This article is divided into three chapters. The introduction part introduces thesignificance of classical reading, research methods, innovative ideas, theoretical basis and therelevant concepts. The first chapter introduces the historical development and currentsituation in classical reading. The second chapter divides the primary education into threestages, introducing each respectively. And the target settings about teaching, units and timeare talked about in this chapter. The third chapter discusses about teaching materialcompilation of primary classical reading. This part introduces the conception, significances,basis, and the characteristics of teaching material compilation respectively and discusses theconstruction and cases of teaching material compilation.This paper serves the description of class target in classical reading about primaryeducation and the assumption of teaching material compilation through introducing thehistorical development and current situation and analyzing the questions existing in theprocesses. It’s based on the best way to carry out the primary classical reading.
