Research On Employment Of Vocational College Graduates In Liaoning Province

Employment of college graduates in China, in particular the employment of vocational college graduates, reflected from the surface that the college students soared to929,000in our province after the introduction of the National College Expansion in1999, which directly resulted in a serious shortage of teaching staff, and led to declining quality of education, inaccurate training location, and the lower overall quality of students. Together with recent financial crisis, a sharp fall in corporate employment and so on, eventually made the phenomenon that college graduates particularly vocational graduates are hard to be employed. But compared to developed countries, China’s annual quantity and quality of college students is far from the need of social and economic development.Every year in the past three years, the number of graduates of vocational colleges in our province was about80,000, but the employment rate was so poor that the average was less than70%. And some colleges had the initial employment rate of less than50%. That was to say nearly30,000vocational graduates couldn’t find jobs in Liaoning every year. Employment of college graduates has been exposed and has become the bottleneck in the development process of higher education in our province. If we do not deepen the vocational education reform, do not reform the employment patterns of vocational graduates to broaden employment channels, the employment of vocational college graduates will become obstacles to the development of education in our province, and will be bound to have a serious impact on the development of our province and the stability in the region. How to solve the difficult problem of employment of college graduates, particularly vocational college graduates, has become a problem to be eagerly solved by the governments, colleges and students. The paper attempted to analyze the problems and propose effective countermeasures. This study includes the following sections:(1) Literature study. Collecting, collating and analyzing the relevant theory and literature of higher vocational education and employment problems and understanding the status of research and experience both in China and in other countries.(2) Survey and analysis of Liaoning Provincial employment of college graduates.(3) Analysis on the cause of the employment problems in Liaoning vocational college graduates.(4) Puting forward measures and approaches to solve the problem aimed at the situation of the employment of vocational graduates in our province.The conclusion of this paper can provide employment references for the employment of similar institutions, and the proposal to solve the problem can provide support for the related department to establish the relevant policies and measures.
