In recent years, due to the reduction of students, the number of students in middlevocational schools continues to decline. Overall quality of students is not high, the studentsare lacking of the learning interesting and motivation, which are reflected especially inmathematics. Many math teachers were very confused. This has caused the author’s ponder:mathematics as a basic course, how to play its role in vocational schools?The reasons why the vocational students learned mathematical difficultly werediscovered in the paper through the questionnaires and interviews to some students,mathematics teachers and professional teachers of Suzhou Higher Vocational TechnologySchool,"embedded" teaching method of mathematics course of electromechanicalspecialty in middle vocational schools was put forward, based on analysis that were doneon the current status and trends of mathematics course reform in mathematics education athome and abroad, and combined with the author’s many years of experience and practiceof mathematics teaching in middle vocational schools. The author put the twoelectromechanical professional classes who taught as the research objects, the contents ofspecialized course were embedded into mathematics teaching, and establishedcorresponding evaluation mechanism. The teaching practice indicated that embeddedteaching method accorded with the cognitive characteristics and development rule of thestudents, an effective combination of mathematics course, learning professional knowledgeand developing occupation ability would be implemented. Finally, the current problemsand shortcomings of embedded teaching method were proposed, which need more andmore concern and discussion of educational circles.
