Research And Practice On Construction Of University Behavior Culture

University culture is the foundation and blood of university development and it isalso important component ofsocialist culture with Chinese characteristics. Universityculture refers to the sum ofmaterial achievement, spiritual achievements and behaviorof educational philosophy, spirit, academic atmosphere, value and so on.University culture includes spirit culture, system culture, substance culture andbehavior culture. These four aspects form concentric circles, outside-to-inside arespirit culture, system culture, substance culture and behavior culture. As a kind ofouter culture, university behavior culture is the important content of university cultureand the carrier to practice the socialist core values. University behavior culture refersto spirit, behavior and culture taste of teaching, research, communication, study andliving. The main contents of its construction are atmosphere, behavioral norm,example power and social services. This text researches the problems and strategies ofthe university behavior cultural construction via the methods of documentary,investigation, analysis and case study.This paper based on the behavioral learning theory and the university organizationculture theory defined the university behavior culture and the problems on it. Theproblems are low cultural quality, bad school ethos, deletion of example,lack ofbehavioral norms and deficiency of social service function. The strategies are lead ofspirit culture, construction of school ethos, constraint of system culture, raise ofbehavior culture taste and optimization of social services.The place of innovation is the analysis of university behavior culture. It canenrich university culture. This paper also put forward to problemsand strategies ofuniversity behavior culture, what make contributions to amending men’s behavior,promoting the connotative development of university and developing university function. This paper takes Harbin University of Science and Technology as example,summarize the problemsand strategies of it. It promotes the culture construction ofHarbin University of Science and Technology.
