Study Of Equal Employment Opportunities For The College Students

The number of colleges is now at an historic high since the expansion of China’s universities in1999. Graduates Employment is not a new topic. Employment is one of the first People’s Livelihood. College students are valuable talent reserve forces in our country, so the university students’ employment problem is highly valued by our state and government. For college graduates, equal employment opportunity is the most important guarantee of their successful employment. Studying the equal employment opportunities for college students has important significance. On one hand, it can help expand the content of ideological and political education. On the other hand, it can also help the college students achieve smooth employment.This paper uses the form of doing surveys in five colleges, including Nanjing University, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology and BinJiang institute. What’s more, some students were invited to talk face to face. After summarizing the results of the survey, and referring to the notes about the talk, analyses are taken to the current situation of the equal employment opportunity of college students. Some problems are found in it.In this paper, the author through consulting a large number of literature, The author’s understanding of the connotation of equality of opportunity from three dimensions--social origin (including social capital, economic capital, cultural capital), abnormal factors (including legal, labor market, social security, universities and employers the problems) and college graduates own differences(including Individual employment view, consciousness of rights safeguarding, employment ability), on the basis of the status and results empirical research,the author analyses of the reasons.Finally, on the basis of the above, in order to solve the problem of equal employment opportunity college, the author proposes the solution though the three dimensions of equal opportunity:to get rid of the shackles of social origin, make colleges stand on the same starting line; to exclude the impact of unusual factors, make colleges face the same rules; to rely on the ability, make students with the equal employment opportunities to obtain a difference job. Countermeasures and suggestions are given from government, universities, businesses, and college graduates themselves. The aim of the paper hopes to provide a healthier, fair employment environment for college graduates.
