Reading, as the people’s main approach to obtain information, is hailed as "the origin of the wit". As we stepping in the time of information, where the knowledge economy is rapidly developing, reading is being paid more and more attention to. However, the teaching quality of reading is unsatisfactory for a period of time. We still cannot get rid of the low efficient status of the lack of quantity, utility, efficiency and quality. The middle school students nowadays have big trouble in reading. It would benefit the development of students and the soft power of our country if current situation is improved. Therefore, there is positive practical significance conducting research on this topic.This paper discuses and analyzes middle school students’reading problem and it countermeasures by literature review, questionnaire survey, analysis and summary, according to related theories in pedagogy and psychology. This paper is consisted of three parts. The author raises the question in the first part. Based on existing investigations, the author conducted questionnaire survey to middle school students from three different middle school in Huaibin County to understand the major problems in students’reading. The author analyzes the question in the second part. By analyzing the data of the survey, the author discovered that There are several reasons caused the dilemma:they lack of reading environment, the reading concept of teachers is inactive, their teaching methods are inappropriate and the unhealthy reading habit and psychology of students. The author solves the question in the third part. In allusion to the problems mentioned above, the author offers following countermeasures:optimize the reading environment to build the reading atmosphere, cultivate students’reading interest to improve their reading level, upgrade teachers’teaching value to clarify the teaching goal and develop healthy reading habit to obtain correct reading method.
