The Classical Chinese passages in the textbook for the senior high school students enjoy a profound knowledge and brilliant literary talent.It makes contribution to developing students' interests of the traditional culture and shaping their characters through reading the master pieces.However,in the process of teaching this part,many students,especially those who study in Luchun No.1 Middle School,a school located in the frontier minority area,present a vexatious look due to their humble reading ability.As a critical part in College Entrance Exam all the time,many students realize the importance but fail to get a good grade.Therefore,it is of great urgency to improve the students' reading ability as well as update the teaching methods.This dissertation divides into four parts: Chapter 1 is the survey of students' status quo in handling the Classical Chinese passages in Luchun No.1 Middle School;Chapter 2 tries to disclose the reasons why the students do not well in reading the part;and Chapter 3 aims to take out the solutions to the problem.By discussing the deficiency in learning and teaching the passages,the strategies are put forward here: 1.To raise the awareness of reading the Classical Chinese from the aspect of attitude;2.To put the daily accumulation in high agenda and solid the basic knowledge;3.To enhance the activity of reading aloud and accordingly get a touch of the passages;4.For teachers,to take the new teaching approach and help students grab the gist and get a better understanding;5.To exercise students' “guessing” ability(guess the meaning of words,etc.).With time going by,students' reading ability will be improved and faith should be given to the teachers to solve the problem as well.
