In the big social environment focused on moral construction by the whole nation, the importance of moral education is increasingly prominent. Moral education in primary schools is the main approach for reinforcing moral education work, and moral education in primary schools is an important part, playing a fundamental role for morality foundation. The first reason is that the morality and cultivation of children influence and decide the future moral construction level of the whole nation; second, children are during the early period of individual growth with the characteristics of limited cognitive ability but strong plasticity. Meanwhile, it means that children are lacking in stability on moral thinking, so they need to be well and definitely guided and cared. Therefore, emphasizing and studying moral education in primary schools are both purposes and methods. Moral education in China has gained outstanding achievements over many years’practice, but still there exist a lot of problems.Based on the preliminary examination and thought, aiming at moral education in primary schools, the paper puts forward the following points:in practice, there exists "separation of knowing and doing" phenomenon in moral education of primary schools. By practical investigation and study, the paper tries to find the approaches to the problems.In terms of literature summary, the paper fully demonstrates the relationship between "knowing" and "doing" and reviews the cause of "separation of knowing and doing" and the methods of "unification of theory and practice" on the basis of practical investigation. Meanwhile, combining with previous study, the author systematically and deeply ponders over moral education of primary schools and puts forward some favorable suggestion.The paper includes five chapters. Chapter one mainly introduces the background and significance of the paper and raises problems. Chapter two is a literature summary, summarizing the dispute between "theory" and "practice" existed in the theory field, analyzing the present study situation and provides theoretical support for the points of the paper. In chapter three, the author chooses the third primary school of Xinyang as the observation target to systematically investigate and study the moral education work with the purpose of finding the existing cause of "separation of knowing and doing" phenomenon. Chapter four is about the thought and suggestion based on investigation as study results. In chapter five, the practical significance and disadvantages of the study are discussed.
