The parameter equation is not only an important mathematical models to solve practical problems, but also the foundation of University of higher mathematics and other disciplines, which has an irreplaceable role in the high school mathematics teaching. Since the implementation of new curriculum standards of high school mathematics, the knowledge of parameter equation is not consistent. Most of the teachers do not pay enough attention to the parameter equation, the parameter equation is just a formality for lots of students, which makes the current situation is not optimistic.In this paper, through the relevant literature on the parameter equation, the author pointed out the important significance and theory of formality in high school mathematics teaching t. On this basis of it, the author analyzed and investigated the requirements of the new curriculum standards, Henan province and the college entrance examination; According to the investigation and analysis of the questionnaires of high school between teachers and students, we knew the present situation of the parameter equation teaching; finally, combining the theoretical research and empirical research results, the author constructed the corresponding teaching design case, and put forward with some suggestions on the parameter equation teaching.The study found that, the high school mathematics parameter equation teaching didn’t pay enough attention to the teaching activities, for instance, the teaching activities are boring and single, students’ learning interest is low, the learning effect is positive. Therefore, this study suggests that the school should pay attention to the parameter equation. Teachers should urge the school to make sure the enough course time. The teaching activities should be close to the student life situation and verify the teaching methods, which is beneficial to stimulate students’ interest, help students to make a correct understanding of the role of the parameter equation, and cultivate students’ knowledge migration ability.
