Confucius, the greatest educator in China, accumulated rich experience and formed a relatively complete and systematic educational thought system after40years of educational practice. It produced a far-reaching effect on carrying out this system on the formation of future education mode and education activities both at home and abroad..Basic education takes the responsibility of fostering talents for the country and improving the overall quality of the nation. All the countries in the world attach great importance to the reform and development of the national basic education. After the reform and opening up, China’s basic education achieved rapid development, gained marvelous success, such as the popularization of compulsory education, the development of quality education, the construction of the contingent of teachers. Especially the popularization of compulsory and free education, helps our country realize the dream of making no social distinctions in teaching, creating Education Office of education of the poor. But at the same time, the development of basic education in China is still not balanced, quality education is of poor quality, teaching mode is single and the overall quality of teachers is not high. All of these are unavoidable and can not be ignored.When it comes to how to solve these problems, we should not only learn the experience from other advanced countries, but return to the ancestors to draw excellent educational ideas and make the past serve the present. Therefore, to solve the problems, such as the imbalanced exists in our country elementary education resources and education, quality education becomes a mere formality, and provide the reference, single teaching method, it’s of vital importance to study Confucius education thought, especially no social distinctions in Teaching fair education, moral education first thoughts of quality education, teaching students in accordance with their aptitude of the differences, inspiring and practical educational thought and the equality between teachers and students. Therefore. I analyze and research the thoughts of Confucius at four aspects:the education object, education objective, teaching methods and teacher-student relationship, extracting the "no social distinctions in teaching","moral education first" "teaching students in accordance with their aptitude""learning and thinking" at last. Combined with the current situation of basic education in China, I list the significance of Confucius education thought from four aspects. Firstly,"no social distinctions in teaching" promotes the education fairness. Secondly, the "moral education first" helps to carry out quality education. Thirdly,"teaching students in accordance with their aptitude", along with "learning and thinking" improves the improvement of teaching method. Finally, it’s about the significance of Confucius’ thought for the construction of teachers. In the last part, I attempt to put forward the methods of developing China’s basic education equally, fast, healthily under the guidance of Confucius thought, hoping to provide useful directions for the development of basic education in China.
