In the1930s, China had experienced a rapid and large scale cultural and political changes.Transformation of the role of intellectuals and their explorations for a political future of China are intertwined. The disciplinarian political to constitutional political path which implemented by the National Government was limited by government’s weak internal organizational structure and attacked by the external public opinion at the same time.The National Calamity which had caused by Japanese invasion, pushed the academic intellectuals to run journals and comment one after another, and setted out a debate about China’s political way out. Among them, The Democrats represented calls for a constitutionalism is the mainstream of public opinion.The national government also slowly tried to carry out constitutional politics in the war.The point of view that Strengthening the KMT’s governance and the national government, which strongly advocated by a group of National Central University Professors who operated the Public Opinion of Times is distinct.Locating the political expression and political comments come from the main authors of the Public Opinion of Times, the author would write this paper to Mainly starting from three themes:firstly the ideas about the party’s governance of the Public Opinion of Times; secondly the ideas of dictatorship and democracy of the Public Opinion of Times;thirdly the attitudes and perceptions of Japanese aggression of the Public Opinion of Times.Reviewing and summarizing political discussion from authors of the Public Opinion of Times, exploring the logical path and theoretical basis behind their political views under the background of "national tragedy", analyzing on the reasons of liberalism and authoritarianism’s different fate in China combined with Chinese political ecology in the1930s, to conclude that the political comments which come from the Public Opinion of Times cannot be agreed by the mainstream of public opinions is actually a internal loss of Chinese politics.
