Up to now, the Elementary Education Circle of Suzhou still possesses and developsnearly100primary and middle schools with a history of over100years. Every school thathas experienced over100years and still keeps immortal must maintain its irreplaceablevalue and special culture. During the process of advancement, all these100-year-oldschools have accumulated their own culture and tradition. For the purpose of developingthe immortal spirit of the100-year-old schools, the cultural exploration and codification ofthese schools are carried out.Targeted on the sample case of Suzhou Caoqiao Experimental Primary School(one ofthe100-year-old schools in Suzhou), this study focuses on the issue of cultural inheritanceand innovation of the school in order to summarize the strategies and experiences ofcultural inheritance and innovation of100-year-old schools. This dissertation consists ofsix parts: the first part explains the background and route of the study and proposes theliterature review; the second part mentions the connotations and relations of the mainconcepts; the third, the fourth and the fifth parts illustrate the major events and affectingfactors of cultural inheritance and innovation in the history of Caoqiao ExperimentalSchool; the sixth part draws the conclusion.The main conclusions of this paper is:cultural consciousness is necessary for schoolcultural inheritance and innovation. In the process of development and Reform in thecurrent school, a school must fully cherish the cultural inheritance and actively perform thecultural innovation. |
