| The modern Olympic Games have been held30times from1896(in Athens) to2012, witnessing not only world records continually broken but also the emergence of updated media forms as a result of technological revolutions. For example, network media amazed the world with its efficient provision of the latest information of all the competitions during Beijing Olympic Games in2008, and cell-phone media played a significant role in information dissemination during London Olympic Games in2012.Cell-phone is often described as "a media with body temperature". Its portability and mobility allow information to be released and received anytime and anywhere, which relieves its users of the constraints of time and space and offers them more chances to act on their own. Cell-phone media has a great impact on communicative activities among humans, as is demonstrated by its uprising popularity caused by the explosive increase of the use of text message, mobile television, and mobile internet in news reporting of London Olympic Games.Tencent Mobile Website was set up by Tencent Holdings Limited and provided information for its users through mobile browsers which are similar to the usage of computers in logging in world wide websites, standing on top among its competitors in many aspects in terms of news reporting of London Olympic Games, such as the amount of network flow, speed of information provision, interactivity, and customer satisfaction.This thesis use the method of document analysis and content analysis, try to makes a quantitative and qualitative analysis of Tencent Mobile Website on its news reporting of London Olympic Games and summarizes the law of news reporting through a deep analysis of some texts that concern quantity, object, resource, approach, mood, standpoint, and headline from the perspective of news framing theory. Conclusions are drawn out as follows. Firstly, Tencent Mobile Website is advantageous for its portal site loaded with news reporting of Olympic Games; secondly, Tencent Mobile Website chooses original reports as its news reporting in its portal site; thirdly, in terms of themes, Tencent Mobile Website focuses on hot items and the specialty events of China in Olympic Games. fourthly, Tencent Mobile Website focuses on the reports of situations on the courts during Olympic Games; fifthly, Tencent Mobile Website considers both social responsibilities and commercial interests as far as possible; sixthly, Tencent Mobile Website needs to avoid news reporting similar to that in other websites.Besides, as for the problems found in the study, suggestions are given for the avoidance of homogeneity in content, training of the related professionals, and technological innovation with the purpose to set a reference for Tencent Mobile Website and other mobile websites that will undertake the news reporting of Brazil’s World Cup in2014and Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games in2016. |
