The new curriculum advocates independent cooperation to explore the way of learning,and this way of learning is beneficial to the needs of students’ lifelong development. In thecomposition teaching, training students’ ability of correcting a composition is helpful forstudents to learn to write, thus improving their the comprehensive quality. In order to bettergrasp the current situation of high school students independent ability to modify thecomposition, the main research content of this article is: to carry out the school-basedresearch. By surveying Luannan NO.1Senior School and Luannan Changning Middle Schoolcoached y the author a series of questionnaires have been completed. On the basis ofunderstanding students’ learning, students’ consciousness and habits of modifyingcompositions will be analyzed. After these surveys and analyses, the article will display theconditions of cultivating high school students’ independent ability to modify the compositions,and points out the goals and requirements, aiming to improve the efficiencies of writingteaching and promoting students’ development. This paper discusses the content as follows:The introduction part mainly elaborates the origin and significance of this thesis.The first chapter is the survey and questionnaires of Luannan NO.1Senior School andLuannan Changning Middle School first senior middle school. On the basis of understandingstudents’ learning, the author will analyze the reason why students lack the awareness orhabits of independently modify compositions and further illustrate the significance ofindependent modification.The second chapter will propose targeted basic conditions and methods to improvestudents’ independent ability to modify compositions, on the basis of investigation andanalysis. The purpose of this chapter is to discuss the independent modification, draw lessonsfrom the successful experience of modifying composition, and point out the significance ofthe new standard and the recent development of the theory of autonomous revises. Specificmethods will be introduced in the article, including: excellent examples, writing more andmodifying more, partners’ interacting, modifying oneself.etc. The third is about teachers’ leading role in students’ modifying compositions from theaspect of teachers. From two aspects of theory and practice, and from the case of the specificlink of teaching, the teachers’ leading role will be introduced in details.Epilogue part shows that high school students in our school lack the awareness andhabits of independent revises, so teachers need to give guidance and help in the teaching.Independently correcting a composition is put forward by the new standard requirement, andneed to be continuously explored.
