Composition teaching has played an important role in Chinese teaching for years. Not only does it occupy 60 marks in the college entrance examination, determining the success or failure of Chinese students, but also undertakes the responsibility to improve the students’ aesthetic temperament and cultivates the students’ correct outlook on life and values. Chinese teaching in any areas would like to regard composition teaching as the most important, however it’s the most difficult.Especially the remote area like Dalad Banner, students are afraid of writing, and their writing abilities are so weak. Also the teaching plans of the teachers are not systematic enough, also their teaching methods are single and inefficient. What’s more, the pressure of the college entrance examination and the guidence of the exam-oriented education let the teachers ignore the cultivation of writing so that it’s hard for students to improve their writing abilities. High schools in Dalad Banner should focus more on optimising the guiding thought of writing, improving the ability of teachering and cultivating students’ writing quality.This article can be divided into three parts, which adopting the method of questionnaire survey to analyze the current situation and then using the method of data analysis to find out the reason of the inefficient composition teaching. Finally, author gave some suggestions.The first part organized a questionnaire survey, putting forwand the the current problem of high school composition teaching in Dalad Banner: the students’ compositions cannot represent the regions life. Also because of their shallow cognition, they can’t express their true feelings. Teachers do not have a total planning of composition teaching, so do the evaluations and feedbacks.Schools overemphasise the scores and ignore the interest cultivation. Parents’ views on education are behind the times, always they restrict the students’ reading materials and so on.By analysing the above information, the author thinks that the main reason of inefficient composition teaching must be as follow: the marginalization of the Chinese subject and heavy homework make the students lazy and show no interest in composition writing. Their little life experience, the negligence of extracurricular reading and the dependence on writing guidance books resulted in the problem, too. Teachers take no account of further study, and their preparations pay no attention to the individual difference. Schools pursue high scores by doing a lot of exercises. Parents holds the opinion that Science is much important than Arts.In the end, author gave some suggestions. For the students, they should try to step out the campus and pay more attention to life around them to fully understand the characteristics of local economy and culture so that they can develop better local feelings. Guaranteeing the training time and avoiding laziness at the same time. For the teachers, they should strengthen the training work, update teaching ideas. Meanwhile teachers can take the targeted tutoring teaching method, multiple perspectives guiding and various teaching composition skills and so on. For the teaching, they should promote their understanding of composition teaching so that the students can have more free space of reading.This article discussed the existing problem from three parts:questionnaire investigation, problem analysising, the suggestions. The author hopes all the suggestions usful to the promotion of high school composition in Dalad Banner, and readers can benefit from the article.
