Sport friendship quality in extracurricular physical exercise can measure adolescentsocial adaptability. Extracurricular physical exercise not only can strengthen the juniorhigh school students’ physical quality, but also bring psychological pleasure to rich leisurelife, improve social adaptability and enhance emotional exchange between peers. But, thespecific relationship between extracurricular physical exercise and sport friendship qualitystill need to be studied. This study tests479junior high school students with the method ofquestionnaire to understand the present situation of extracurricular physical exercise andsports friendship quality. There are main conclusions in this study:The main purpose of junior high school students participating in extracurricularphysical exercise is to enhance physical quality, then improve sports skills andextracurricular life, but making friends and shaping the body are not the main motivation.The five top sports items are badminton, table tennis, basketball, swimming, and running.The exercising is carried out mainly in groups, sometimes by two people or individuals.The frequency of exercising is lower and the training lasts for half an hour and an hour, butseldom in more than an hour. The intensity of exercising is mainly low intensity andmoderate intensity.The score of companionship and pleasant play is the most, of self-esteem enhance andsupport,and loyalty and intimacy is the second but of conflict and conflict resolution isvery little. About the score of self-esteem enhance and support, and loyalty and intimacy,the female’s significantly more than the male’s, but the male’s score of conflictsignificantly more than the female’s. The first grade is significantly lower than the secondand third grade in sport friendship quality. There is obvious difference of urban and ruralareas in self-esteem enhance and support,and loyalty and intimacy, with the urban’s higherthan the rural’s. The score of self-esteem enhance and support, loyalty and intimacy, things incommon, companionship and pleasant play and conflict resolution from the junior highschool students with making friends is higher, but of conflict is lower. The score of sportfriendship quality from the junior high school students with enhancing physical quality andimproving sports skills is lower. There is obvious form of exercise difference of enhanceand support, loyalty and intimacy, and companionship and pleasant play, groups’ scoremore than individuals’. The score of in groups with loyalty and intimacy andcompanionship and pleasant play higher than the two’s. The score of self-esteem enhanceand support, things in common, and companionship and pleasant play increases with themore of exercise time. The score difference is obvious in intensity of self-esteem enhanceand support, things in common, companionship and pleasant play and conflict, andmoderate intensity can produce high sport friendship quality.
