Mathematics is the science which expresses the numerical relations and the spatialform in the form of sign language. In fact, the learning of mathematics is the mathematicallanguage learning. The mastery of mathematical language directly determines the level ofthe ability of mathematics learning. For language learning, reading is a foundation, so themathematics teaching should pay attention to the cultivation of the students’ mathematicsreading ability.At present, mathematics reading research has certain effect, and also in the process ofcontinuously explore and perfect. In this article, on the basis of absorbing predecessors’rich research achievements, the author put the reading into mathematics teaching accordingto the discipline characteristics of “number and algebra”,“graphics and geometric”. In theseventh grade last semester, in the teaching of the “number and algebra”, the author takethe interesting reading method, the comparative reading method and the step by stepreading method to cultivate the students’ number sense, symbol sense and model of ideas,that help students to transition from arithmetic to algebraic thinking; In the eighth gradelast semester, in the teaching of the “graphics and geometric”, the author try to let studentsto carry onthe “reading&analyzing”,“reading&operating”,“reading&rethinking”, thencultivate students’ ability to transform three languages, extract information from graphicsand reasoning ability.Practice results show that the mathematics reading teaching can effectively stimulatestudents’ interest in learning, and also has a positive impact for the cultivation of thestudents’ mathematics learning and mathematics thinking. In practice, the author hasaccumulated certain experience in reading teaching, including reading outline formulatedand reading teaching point in time, the content module and the choice of teaching methods,etc. There has been some confusion in this study. The author hopes to be able to continueto study related to the reading teaching content, teaching mathematics at the height of theeducation.
