An Investigation Of Ideological And Political Education Among The Frustrated Students In Colleges

In August,2004, CPC Central Committee and State Council issued a documentthat “On Furthering Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Educationamong College Students’’, which regards college students’ psychological healtheducation as an important content. Moreover, it also emphasized the importance ofenhancing students’ ability to overcome the difficulties, stand the trials and resist thefrustrations. Obviously, launching psychological health education among collegestudents is an important route to strength and to improve the college students’ideological and political education. Therefore, it is an urgent task to carry out theeffective ideological and political education among the students who has sufferedfrom serious setbacks and further promote students’ ability to resist majorfrustrations.However, nowadays, the majority of college students are only children. Beforethey go to the college, they are spoiled by their parents and nearly have no chance toexperience major frustrations and setbacks. Nevertheless, as the step into the college,they need to learn how to learn and live independently. They are suffered fromdifferent kinds of pressures about academic performance, establishing a relationship,interpersonal commutations and the employment. A constant stream of frustrationsbecome to come. As a result, if students do not have a right attitude towardsfrustrations, they may unable to face all these small setbacks appeared in their dailylife, not to speak of the challenge of handling the major frustrations. Furthermore, thissituation may greatly affect the physical and mental health of college students.Students may trend to hold back, escape, self-harm and assault, which will lead toserious consequence.In order to further enhance the effect of the ideological and political educationof the frustration among college students, this paper examines the main reasons forcollege students to encounter frustrations and students’ reaction to them and analysesthe current system of ideological and political education among seriously frustratedcollege students，which build an comprehensive and deep understanding of this issue.Therefore, five principles including the combination of infiltrating education andcentralized education, the combination of education and self-education, thecombination of family education, social education and school education, the combination of deepening the understanding and horning practically and thecombination of major frustration education and general frustration education, fiveapproaches including classroom teaching, social practical activities, campus culturaldevelopment, psychological counseling and guidance and new network media andfour method including persuading through reasoning, inspiring though examples,caring and supporting, psychological counseling have been put forward to promote theeffect of ideological and political education work in colleges.
