With the continuing development of Chinese education, the development ofprofessional teacher has been widely concerned. And improving teachers’ professionallevel can no longer be delayed. To achieve the professional development of teachers, avariety of teaching and researching activities have been started. Various forms ofschool-based researches are proposed in recent years as a new form ofteaching-research. In numerous of research activities, micro-topic research plays animportant role in promoting the professional development of teachers. Understandingthe situation of the micro-topic research help to to improve and standardize it.The current situation and countermeasure research on the junior high schoolbiology teacher’s micro–topic research is mainly by the following methods: literatureanalysis, investigation, case studying and mathematical statistics. Making an analysisof the situation of the micro-topic research for biology teachers in junior high schoolin order to know the problems in the micro-topic research and put forward thestrategies and suggestions to solve the problem and provide advices for the teachers.This paper carries out an investigation through questionnaires and interviews,and the preliminary conclusions are as follows. First, teachers whether doingmicro-topic research or not is not related to their promotion directly. And most of theteachers will be able to make a correct understanding of the role of micro-topicresearch, but most of the teachers participating in micro-topic research remains havethe main purpose that to promoting the title cut plus and have the heavier utilitarian.Second, the majority of schools are fixed issue the declarated time, little can be doneat any time, teachers are not familiar with research methods in the course of the study,and they tend to show the achievement in paper form. Third, teachers have enhancedresearch awareness, and have significantly improved teaching behavior, writing skillsand teaching ability. Fourth, the reason not to participate in making micro-topicresearch is mainly lack of theoretical knowledge and research capacity, no order formthe superiors, and lack of opportunity and time. Fifth, male teachers are differentfrom female teachers significantly in the iterature deal. Different teachers of differentareas and different seniority have many obvious differences in teachers understanding, research results, influencing factors. Last, the main factors affecting the research is itsown factors, the teachers and the external conditions factor.This paper summarized several problems in three aspects as teachers themselves,schools and research departments based on the survey. For the teachers themselves,they are lack of awareness of research and study ability. They take too much focus onresults, but have lagging mental models. For schools, the organizational form is notappropriate, they can not play freely. The school doesn not have enough support andso on. For the research department, the propaganda is not enough, the mechanism isunsound, the assessment mechanism is imperfect, the incentives are not clear and soon. Meanwhile, this paper put forward the corresponding countermeasures from theresearch atmosphere, the organization and management, as well as guidelines for theresearch. For example, safeguarding the teachers’ time and space, providing researchfunding, adopting diversified publicity, seting up the school union, establishing a PDSmodel, etc. This article made a detailed elaboration for guide micro-topic research andselected some cases to analyze to show the advantages and disadvantages for peopleto refer and finally, proposed further research plan to improve the research.
