The fast-paced modernized market economy results in an increasingly busylifestyle, in which work and family have become two distinct important areas withseparate features. The work-family relationship is much harder to handle withindustrialization and informatization at such a high level, and the Work-FamilyConflict (WFC) problem intensifies. Studies have shown that WFC brings a negativeimpact upon physical and mental health of employees as well as their workperformance and families, including damaged physical and mental health, compromised corporate performance and development, lower satisfaction of personaland family life, and even posting a threat on marriages. At present, researches in China on WFC mainly focus on teachers, medicalprofessionals and IT workers, with little effort put upon civil aviation employees. Thus, this research has chosen civil aviation crew members as research subjects, inthe hope of raising awareness of their work stress and WFC problem from civilaviation companies’ management, and helping companies to come up with solutionsand measures from the organizational standpoint by developing reasonable HRMsystems and helping crew members to manage their work-family relationships better, promoting physical and mental health, reducing job burnout, increasing loyalty, andtherefore improving corporate performance, achieving a win-win situation betweenindividuals and the organization as well as the balance between work and family. In this paper, a questionnaire survey has been conducted among a total of119flight crew members of the Beijing Capital Airport area. Using SPSS statisticalsoftware, collected data is analyzed through factor analysis, descriptive statisticalanalysis, correlation analysis and analysis of variance to test the hypothesis of thisstudy.Through data analysis, we have drawn the following conclusions:1. WFCperceived by crew members is in the upper level, with Work Interference with Family(WIF) higher than that of Family Interference with Work (FIW).2. There aresignificant differences between two dimensions of WFC regarding factors includingage, marital status and children, while non-significant differences are found regardingthe factor of gender.3. Significant differences are found in subjects’ Work StressPerception level regarding factors of their gender and marital status.4. Significantpositive correlation is found between subjects’ Work Stress Perception level and WIF.5. Very significant negative correlation is found between WFC and Work Satisfactionlevel as well as between WFC and Family Satisfaction level.
