With the continuous improvement of China’s international political and economic status,"Chinese language learning fever" is also growing. More and more foreigners want to learnChinese.But in Europe, especially in Switzerland, Chinese Language Learning as a secondlanguage courses is still not in popular demand at primary and secondary schools, due to itsstrangeness and difficulties in pronunciation, from which make lots of children and adolescent,who would show great interests in Chinese language and culture, flinch.In order to improve this situation of Chinese learning, I endeavor to use self-composedChinese children’s songs teaching Swiss kids to learning Chinese by singing, because of mydual educational background in music and Chinese international education.This paper analyzed the connections between language and music, Chinese language andmusic, and the influence of music on children’s language learning as well. This paper alsointroduced some main principles of compiling teaching materials, domestic and overseasteaching situation of using music as auxiliary in language learning classes.The above mentioned is considered as the theoretical basis supporting for the theme of thisdissertation.After nearly two months teaching practice at Lauterbrunnen public elementary school inSwitzerland, I have drew the conclusions, this teaching method is worth to be put on the trial topromote.But this is just a beginning, I will continue to proceed developing this teaching method andtry to compose more Chinese songs used as Chinese teaching materials for children, in order tocontribute my effort of the spread Chinese language and culture in the world.
