Altruism is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation, but also a way to build a harmonious society. There are many factors affect the occurrence of Altruistic behavior, the differences of individual’s gender roles also affect altruism. This paper aims to investigate the status of college students’ altruistic behavior and gender roles,and to explore the role of gender facilitation and gender roles play on altruistic behavior. This paper contains three studies.Study one is the survey about current college students’ altruistic behavior and gender roles situation. The study is taken place in an empty classroom of the school,with a tester and four college classmates as a group. The "College Students altruistic behavior questionnaire" and the "College Students Sex Role Inventory" are used to conduct on 150 college students. The study comes to the following conclusions:1. Among the college students, there are some groups whose altruism level is relatively higher than other groups. These groups are female groups, the Communist Party members, Students from rural areas, students whom participated in altruistic activities before.2. College Students’ gender roles have changed a lot compared to 10 years ago.It shows that the population of masculinity and androgyny is increasing.Study two is a research to explore the effect of gender facilitation on College Students’ altruistic behavior. The study selected 90 students from Jiangxi Normal University and Jiangxi Technology College. The research take place in some empty classrooms of two the schools, with a tester and four classmates as a group. The research context are situation with opposite sex classmates and with same sex classmates. Situation with opposite sex classmates are as male and female group(2male and 2 female). Situation with same sex classmates are male and male group(2male and 2 male), female and female group(2 female and 2 female). These three different groups are the independent variable of the study. The dependent variable is the occurrence of altruistic behavior(occur, not occur). The research first conducted two surveys in the study one, and then publicized a "caring the older people volunteer activity ". The tester will publicize the activity and register the volunteer’s information. The study comes to the following conclusions:Under the presence of the opposite sex, altruistic behaviors of college studentsincreased significantly. The results proved that gender facilitation is promoting the altruistic behavior.Study three is to explore the impact of different gender roles on College Students’ altruistic behavior. The study selected 120 students from Jiangxi Normal University and Jiangxi Technology College. The research took place in some empty classrooms of two the schools, with a tester and four classmates as a group. The research context is the situation with opposite sex classmates(2male and 2 female).The independent variable of this study is four kinds of gender roles(masculinity,femininity, androgyny, undifferentiated). The dependent variable is three different kinds of altruistic task(task1, task2, task3). The research first conducted two surveys in the study one, and then conducted the “caring the elderly people volunteer activity”in the study two. The tester will publicize volunteer activity and register the volunteer’information and task they choose. The study comes to the following conclusions:1. The altruistic behavior of the four gender roles’ students is significantly different.2. Different gender roles’ students tended to choose the altruistic task which similar to their gender roles.
