Since the beginning of the 21 st century, the enrollment expansion of higher education in China brought about a large number of upgraded colleges and universities in our country. They are playing an important role in the development of higher education China, which have made great significance to the popularization of higher education and become a batch of important emerging power.In this paper, it takes the application-oriented undergraduate education in domestic and abroad for reference and the current situation of the development of upgraded universities and colleges in Jiangxi province as the background. Focus on the college as the representative of the transformation of local undergraduate colleges and universities development practice. From specific to general, this paper sums up the experiences of colleges and universities development and tries to find out what problems the local undergraduate colleges and universities may face. After that, it l provides the probable solutions or suggestions for the problems.Documentary method, method of comparative study, case study, interview investigation methods are used in this paper. It studies the development of China’s higher education classification, as well as the upgraded undergraduate course colleges and universities in Jiangxi province, the development status of the new energy science and engineering at college curriculum system, specialty construction and teaching reform, teaching staff, teaching practice, teaching integration aspects of in-depth investigation. The analysis concludes that the transformation of local undergraduate colleges and universities development may encounter education values curing, professional set up on the basis of the subject system, curriculum and teaching material is given priority to with scientific theory of knowledge, lack of "double type" teachers, practice bases, in-depth issues such as "industry-university-institute" cooperation. To solve the possible problems, in this paper, society, colleges and universities should guide school students break the bondage of education concept, professional construction should reflect characteristic, local, application-oriented characteristics should be stressed, and take ability training as the center of the course system, construction of fusion between colleges, both inside and outside compatible "double type" teachers, integrating various resources, establish and improve the practice bases and so on.
