The performance appraisal for teachers in urban elementary and middle school not only can avoid the disadvantages that exist in the traditional model of administrative system, but also can stimulate the teachers’ enthusiasm as a kind of incentive mechanism. Meanwhile, it is the key point of improving teachers’ work efficiency and making them do a good job in teaching.Shenzhen, at the forefront of reform and opening, has made a wonder in economy. It also has got some characteristics in education. In Shenzhen, the government has done something and got some practical experience in the performance appraisal for teachers in elementary and middle schools. However, there is still a gap between the ideal and the reality. Currently, we need deepen and consolidate the achievements in the reform of teachers’ performance appraisal. This can make it specific and humanization. On the other hand, we need to perfect the mechanism with the actual situation and focus on comprehensiveness, fairness and time effectiveness of teachers’ performance appraisal.So the author took the current performance appraisal for teachers in Yantian elementary and middle school as an example and found that many things can be studied and improved. For example, the concept of teachers’ performance appraisal has the dislocation, the content and index system of the design is not reasonable, the current teachers’ performance appraisal is lack of integrality, universality and operability, the result of teachers’ performance appraisal is not sent back and it is not well-used either. First, the author collected data through questionnaires. Then, she found out the problems which have existed in it. At last, she analyzed the problems and gave some advice to solve them.
