In the middle school language teaching, the modern poetry teaching is a relatively unique part.In the Chinese textbook of junior high school, modern poetry occupies the proportion is not very big, however, modern poetry inherited the Chinese classical poetry content focus on the artistic charm, refined language distant features. At the same time, it has modern foreign poems free spirited, emphasize the coexistence of many feeling, emotion, consciousness and music characteristic, for adolescents to improve the appreciation level, training and establish a good emotional attitude and value view is a big help. So in the middle school language teaching material, the modern poetry becomes the teaching essential constituent.However, in the modern poetry teaching in middle school, some still exist some problems, such as the degree of attention to the poetry teaching has not yet reached the desired effect, poetry teaching methods also exist some old monotone problems, and in the students’ Extracurricular expansion has the disadvantages of narrow. These problems indirectly restrict the improvement of teaching effect, and also have a certain impact on the students’’better contact and feeling of modern poetry..This article tries to start from the actual teaching in Baicheng City No.3 middle school teachers were interviewed, and in Baicheng City, the three secondary schools were randomly selected 500 students questionnaire, interview and the questionnaire, summed up the results Baicheng City No. 3 middle school Chinese modern poetry teaching situation, analysis in order to find out the underlying causes of the problems, and the relatively reasonable and feasible suggestions were put forward according to the. reason.
