In the 21 st century, education is fulfilling its great mission in an unprecedented gesture for the development of society and creating talents. In such an era, the spiritual and cultural needs of the people are highlighted on an unprecedented scale and the cultivation of talents is placed in the global perspective, so cultivating the cultural taste of both students and teachers and the promotion of their personality spirit should apply the standards of our times. Without culture accumulation, condensation and promotion, it would be extremely difficult for a school to realize its sustainable development on higher level, let alone to realize its vision of running school. Numerous facts have proven that outstanding school culture is the core element to enable a school to maintain long-term competitiveness. It is the essence of educational thoughts of both principals and teachers’ and more importantly an important source of school spirit.Throughout the history of many famous schools, historical figures in those schools have all played important roles in the school culture. These cultural celebrities have become a cultural symbol of the school spirit. Especially those with a long history, profound cultural accumulation and excellent tradition have such a distinction. This kind of celebrities often become a spiritual symbol of the school, school culture totem as modern people call it.This thesis, based on the perspective of modern school culture reshaping, takes Meiling Elementary School as an example, discusses the relationship between historical figure Shi Kefa and school development, educational significance of the “spirit of Shi Kefa”, inheritance and innovation of school culture. It also explores the basic ways of the construction of school culture, namely seek for the growth point of the school in the new period with the help of the distinctive qualities of historical celebrities and cultural connotation, enriches the connotation of the school’s educational philosophy, establishes education goals combing traditional culture and modern civilization, constructs the curriculum system to serve students’ lifelong development and forms bright school culture, so as to promote the quality of school education and foster students of deep humanity, and eventually achieve the goals of the educating people and running school.
