University culture is a unique DNA, it is a sign which is different from other universities, it is a unique cultural form which develops along the long-term educational practice, gradually affects the university man’s thoughts and behavior silently. One of the mission of the university culture is to cultivate talents, especially creative talents. University is the innovative talent training base, the most innovative potential of innovative talents is found within the university campus, the innovative talents’knowledge is built in the university campus, the innovative thinking ability of creative talents is cultivated in the university campus, the most innovative personality characteristics of innovative talents is cultivated in the university campus, the most comprehensive innovative ability of innovative talents is cultivated in the university campus. It plays an indispensably environmental impacts on talents’cultivation which makes talents set strict rule to themselves and be engaged in the creative activities which include the truth exploration and society service.Based on the important influence of university culture on cultivating innovative talents, this article tries to find out the variable relationship between university culture and the innovative talent training, and through case studies of Harvard University, to further demonstrates the role of the university culture on innovative talent cultivation, which will also provide some advice on our university culture construction.This thesis includes the following three parts:The first part is introduction, which mainly elaborates the topic statement and background of this thesis; The significance of research, including the theory significance and practical significance; Literature review, including the domestic research situation and the foreign research status; Research ideas, research contents and research methods, etc.The second part includes four chapters, this part is the core and trunk of the thesis.The first chapter mainly discusses the basic theory of university culture, focus on the connotation, components and features of university culture, and the role of university culture on talent training, etc.The second chapter mainly discusses the definition and characteristics of innovative talents.The third chapter mainly discusses the university definition and the interaction between culture and the innovative talents cultivation. This part is the trunk and core of this paper, which mainly discusses the influence of university culture on cultivating innovative talents.The fourth chapter proves the arguments of this paper through the case study of Harvard University, such as encouraging critical and questioning study environment and developing easing and free academic atmosphere and so on. The Harvard University uses this kind of concrete practice to cultivate innovative talents.The third part is the summary, mainly summarizes the first two parts, giving some suggestions on our university cultural construction.This thesis thinks that university culture is the means and way to cultivate talent, cultivating talents is the purpose, function and mission of the university culture. The university mission culture, free culture and critical culture plays an important role on creative talents cultivation. Such as the mission culture " worship truth, search for truth" of Harvard University, it makes students avoid behavior which resist against science and truth consciously, and makes students be loyal to knowledge and truth, then make original achievements. The free culture of Harvard University allows students to explore the unknown and novelty field, which provides environment support for the emergence of innovative achievements; The critical culture of Harvard University can develop the students’ability of dialectical thinking and reflective judgment, which is conducive to innovative achievements. The spiritual culture, behavior culture, system culture and physical environment culture of Harvard University makes a good example for our universities. As a result, this paper puts forward the need to create university spirit culture, university behavior culture, university system culture and university substance culture which are beneficial to creative talents cultivation.
