In the context of economic globalization and as the focus of people’s attention all the time, hot social issues influence social emotions. If a social issue triggers the rising tide of social opinions, it may lead to social turmoil. After entering the social transformation period, China is going through production restructuring, change of benefit distribution and diversification of social values, incurring endless hot social issues. Among the main groups of people who would care social issues, the particular status of senior high-school students is highlighted by the public. On the one hand, senior high school students accept new things more easily and pay high attention to hot social issues. On the other hand, hot social issues and related social thoughts, emotions and opinions influence the mentality, values and behaviors of senior high-school students to some extent. Contemporarily, the master of high school students’ characteristics, the hot social issues into the high school ideological and political education, ideological and political education to enrich the current high school. Grasp the ideological and political education in high school, so that the hot issues of education in high school ideological and political education has become an important topic in the effective implementation of current educators.This paper was divided into four sections. The introduction learn the theory, based on the existing achievements of the issues raised, the significance and status of social observation and experience to do a general overview of the domestic research.The first part was a general study of hot social issues, including analysis of the contents of hot social issues, the reasons behind current social issues and problems incurred. It further looked into the features of contemporary hot social issues including distinctive modernity, class nature, universality, guidable nature, variety, complexity and profundity. Secondly, it analyzes the current situation of social hot issues of education and its impact on high school students. illustrating the impact of hot social issues on the mental health, behavior cultivation, political recognition and value formation of high-school students and proposing correspondent solutions. The second part studied the need for the introduction of social hot issues of ideological and political education in high school, and discussed the hot social issues into the high school ideological and political education value and significance.It drew the conclusion that the social issues could facilitate the ideological and political education in a way to follow the ideological status of students, improve the teaching quality of ideological and political classes and guide the general high-school education of ideology and politics. The third part proposed the integration of hot social issues with high-school ideological and political education in terms of applicable methods and paths. What calls for special attention is that the integration of hot social issues with high-school ideological and political education shall be centered on the theoretical education through high-school ideological and political classes, in combination with focused after-class ideological and political publicity at school. The politics teachers and head teachers shall play the guiding role by establishing specific workshops on school websites. Schools should be with students, families and society to work together in order to better optimize high school ideological and political education.
