Han Yu, who was a eminent educationist and litterateur in the Tang Dynasty, had systematic thoughts of education. And his thought is rich in content with an independent theoretical system. His theory is close to Chinese subject from the point of educational content, educational thoughts, educational methods and others.Scholars have attached great importance to Han Yu’s contribution to the literature and thoughts. Only some researchers study his contribution on education, but they study this part from pedagogy, not from Chinese subject teaching theory. This thesis analyzed Han Yu’s thoughts from aspects such as educational aim, role definition of teacher, concept of students,,teaching methods, study method based upon the research status and other points. Han’s educational aim was to create moral people who made a difference influenced by Confucianism. He thought teacher was to preach Confucianism, to teach more practical Chinese knowledge and to help students get out off their confusion of life. For the view of students, he divided them into three levels then gave up teaching the third rand. His relationship with his students was just like friends instead of the teacher and the student. He taught different students on the basis of their aptitude in multitudinous teaching methods. And correspondingly, Han asked his students read a lot with heart then concluded their own reading methods.Combined with the results of the Chinese Learning Situation Investigation, this thesis studys Han Yu’s Chinese education thought. It will help more if we focus on the status quo.Chinese curriculum standard is the guiding document of Chinese subject. There are three The guiding ideology coming out with the new Chinese curriculum standard: Chinese quality, creative ability, common subject ground and multiple choices. And I compared the new Chinese curriculum standard with Han Yu’s theory so that I can conclude a comprehensive understanding of the standard. His Chinese quality was to inheriting Confucian thought. He created new genre of poem and prose. His common subject ground was Confucian classics and he thought extensive reading was just a kind of multiple choices. So it is a supplement of the new Chinese curriculum standard to study more about Han’s education theory and practice.Han Yu was also the leader of classical literature movement, which broke a new path of literary in Tang Dynasty. So he had special view and methods of Chinese reading and writing. He thought reading classic books was significant as well as reading more. He also attached the importance to innovation in writing. There must be some enlightenment can be found through the analyze of Han Yu, so that Chinese education will be improved according to these enlightenment.
