Research In The Leading Effects Of Socialism Core Values On The Ideological And Political Education In Secondary Vocational Schools

Secondary vocational school is the key base in cultivating qualified and reliable successors in the work of socialism modernization. Ideological and political education in these institutes does not only determine students’ way of thinking, ideological values, personal pursuits in life and standard of morals, but also has a huge impact on the future of our country, hope of our nation and development of our society. Thus we can observe the vital importance of leading political education through socialism core value. It should both fit the active demand in building a well-off society in an all-round way as well as bringing about a great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and the actual requirement of stressing and improving of the political education in vocational schools. This essay attempts a systematic and thorough discussion on how these values would lead our school education by means of conducting a survey in the on-site political education’s situation at Qiqihar Forestry School.The essay comprises three parts. Part One illustrates the principle of socialism core values, the fundamental theory on ideological and political education in secondary vocational schools and the relationship between these two. Part Two elaborates on the urgency and essentiality of employing core values in ideological and political education in schools. For “urgency”, a conclusion that the mainstream ideology of vocational students is positive and healthy while a lack of belief in Marxism and socialism, sense of collectivism, the socialist concept of honor and disgrace, and traditional virtues still exist. The causes are investigated objectively and deep from four aspects – society, school, family and individual. As for “essentiality”, it is pointed out that leading political education through socialism core values is a crucial step in securing the ideological sphere, also it provides ideas of enhancing the theoretical resources in teaching politics, helps to train talents for socialism modernization and serves as the harmony of campus life in secondary vocational schools. Part Three tries to explain the principles and strategies. Basic principles include trend, practicability, diversity, thoroughness, and pertinence. Long term strategies are comprised of agreement, motivation, evaluation and supportability. Lastly, an attempt is made to put forward various ways to promote socialism values in five aspects, which are “guiding students in highly assimilating socialism core values; actively promote the production of complementary and revision of reading textbooks on ideologies and politics; taking advantage of the major benefit in the classroom teaching environment; broadening the education stream with the assistance of online measures; optimizing the environment of material, mentality, rules and activity on campus; improving and perfecting the four-realm education model(school, family, student, society.)...
