The Inheritance And Protection Of The Villagers’ Dragon-boat Culture In Yi Chun City

Along with the increasing diversification of international sports competition, dragon-boat race, a traditional sports event in China, is gradually heading towards the international field of vision. At the same time, the conventional dragon-boat culture has been earning much emphasis and protection with each passing day. However, in the economic development environment of traditional culture shock, the development of this sports together with the inheritance of dragon-boat culture in some regions have been threatened. It had a negative effect on both the global expansion and the domestic conservation of the dragon-boat tradition. In those underdeveloped areas, people are shifting their main living zone from countries to cities in pursuit of domestic economic growth, which directly affects the inheritance and development of the dragon-boat culture. As a result, it is of great realistic meaning to study the inheritance and protection of this kind of culture in less developed regions in China as well as to work out a plan for the development of this sports and culture.Based on the document literature, field visit, interview, questionnaire and data analysis, this paper researches on the villagers’ dragon-boat culture in San Gong Miao village, Duan Tan town, Yi Chun city, Jiang Xi province, and links with the construction of the beautiful new countryside to the inheritance and protection of the villagers’ dragon-boat culture then analyzes it. It plays an important role and significance on the protection of China’s traditional culture, the promotion of the local economy, the calling for the spirit of national exercises and the building of the dragon boat spirit. Meanwhile, with field interviews and questionnaires, the peasants’ level of participation, how much they know about their dragon boat culture, and their rising expectations have been accurately analyzed. The paper objectively lists out the current dilemma in the field of dragon boat culture protection. What’s more, the feasibility analyses to solve these problems are discussed, such as local government’s scientific and overall protection, activating its advantages, building common interests between cultural preservation and new rural construction.
