A Research And Cultivation On Plausible Reasoning Ability Of High School Students

With the development of society and education, the plausible reasoning has been paid more and more attention. Whether “The compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard”(2011) or “The ordinary high school mathematics curriculum standard”(Experiment) put forward clearly that: paying attention to deductive reasoning, and also the plausible reasoning. Then, in the actual teaching, how does the plausible reasoning ability of high school students develop? How do teachers treat it?First, we analyze the meaning of plausible reasoning from two angles namely the development of mathematics and the students themselves. Then, according to the related information, we introduce the definition and the forms, analyze the relationship with deductive reasoning and the current situation of plausible reasoning, elaborate the theoretical basis. Then, we investigate the development of plausible reasoning ability of high school students by questionnaire. The investigation shows that:(1) The scoring rate of the questionnaire is not high, most of students know the plausible reasoning, but can’t solve problems by plausible reasoning on their own initiative.(2) The plausible reasoning of high school students develops unbalance, the inductive reasoning ability is better than analogical reasoning ability.(3) The development of plausible reasoning ability is influenced by the lack of reading ability and symbol sense.(4) The students have not realized the importance of plausible reasoning, and the interest of plausible reasoning is not high.(5)There are significant sexual and grade differences in plausible reasoning, but no significant difference between the arts students and the science students. Besides interview the attitude of teachers on plausible reasoning. Interviewing results show that:(1) Most of teachers have certain understanding to the plausible reasoning, but they don’t have enough attention on this, sometimes they do not follow the plausible reasoning thinking to teach.(2) The majority of teachers are satisfied with the content about plausible reasoning in the book, but still have some different opinions.(3) There are kinds of difficulties in plausible reasoning teaching.At last, the author puts forward the following suggestions for the cultivation of plausible reasoning ability:(1) Improve the evaluation mechanism to make the teaching evaluation on plausible reasoning more reasonable.(2) Implement the new Concept, and change the methods of teaching and studying.(3) Process the teaching materials, penetrate on time, excavate profound, and search for the growth point to develop the plausible reasoning ability.(4) Train the plausible reasoning ability in the process of problem solving, and see itsapplication.
