The number of young rural teachers is increasing, among which lots of them come there because of the teacher recruitment exam. Many of them are not native people, when they adapt to the new circumstance, they will come across local knowledge, which may affect their work and daily life. At present, some rural schools find difficulty in keeping the young rural teachers, many of the young teachers quit to a better place, which makes the society focus on the living situations of young teacher in rural schools. So it is necessary to turn to the situation of young non-local teachers’ local knowledge, to know about their thoughts, and find the responding solutions to stabilize the staff and help develop the local knowledge with the help of the young teachers.The study focuses on a young female and non-local teacher’s daily work and life, to see what she knows about the local knowledge.Firstly, it analyses the significance of rural teachers’ local knowledge. Then the paper describes the whole study process in detail. It mainly presents the teacher’s understanding of local knowledge and the real situation of her application of local knowledge into teaching. During the study, it finds out that the teacher gets local knowledge with the help of many people.After that, based on field observation and the previous studies, the paper analyses the factors that affect the teacher’s local knowledge development, including the teacher’s personal factors and social support systems, etc.The external factor only works through the inner factor. So the paper mentions the ways to improve the social circumstance, it emphasizes that the young teachers themselves plays an essential part, teachers shall be close to rural people and society, and develop cultural root as soon as possible. And in practice, rural cultural activities shall be held and teachers take part in these activities to enrich teacher’s local knowledge, which then shall be applied in developing rural curriculum and teaching, only in this way can the rural local knowledge be passed and developed.
