| With the increasingly severe employment situation, more and more university graduates become the voluntary unemployed. The phenomenon of voluntary unemployment is thought-provoking. On the one hand, for university graduates, they have to pay more opportunity costs. On the other hand, it also increased the burden of the family and society virtually. Therefore, this study was the topic about voluntary unemployment. Six university graduates who were graduated from full-time undergraduate education in Lanzhou city as reach subjects. The use of qualitative in-depth interviews to collect data and analyze information, to explore the phenomenon of voluntary unemployment.Conclusions of this study are: First, the voluntary unemployment among the six university graduates in job-hunting process divided into four stages, namely, job trying period, job impingement period, exam stable period, self attempts to locate period. Second, the factors that affect their job search process of development include: first aspect of the interview data analysis revealed four factors, one’s own factors, including lack of professional skills, professional orientation is not clear and expectations of searching job is too high, lack of the initial impetus and actions for job, the concept of job is behind; The second is the family factor. Including the general’s family background and the family expects to send in a "stable"; Third, school factors. Setting of curriculum in universities to social needs is disconnect and lack of career guidance; Fourth, social factors. Significant difference between public sector and private sector. The second aspect is the three theories of economic analysis: All cases are in line with Job Search theory, individual cases in line with the dual labor market theory, reservation wage theory in the specific circumstances of individual cases of varying degrees of effects. Third, career choices but in reality is an interactive process, voluntary unemployment university graduates have their frustration and bitterness, from the graduates themselves, families, schools, the government’s point made a number of specific recommendations, looking forward to help voluntary unemployed university graduates to search jobs. |
