The current society is on the social transition period of the production socialization to the educational socialization, because of the factors of social, economic and higher education development,the phenomenon of the “excessive education” and “knowledge unemployment” is emerge, In the process of “school graduates” to “social man” transition, graduates face the sharp increase in unemployment, the “floating clan of the school” groups in the constantly expanding, has become a hot social problems, so the study of ”the school float” has the important practical significance.This paper from the point of youth transition, adopts qualitative research method to interview12 “school float”, collect corresponding data, and based on the analysis of categorization and contextualization to presents the micro process of the role transition from graduates to “school float”. Here comes the conclusion: the social background in which “school float” produce, the related policy about the formation of “school float”, and the self- motivation and the controlled-motivation why the graduates choose to be the “school float” play a vital role in the transition of graduates to “school float”; the dilemma and conflict which the “school float” face during the period of the role transition include: the behavioral level dilemma of the role playing, identity conflict of the role positioning and the cost income value of the role expectation. The behavioral strategies and self-adjustment of the role taking of “school float” include: how to realize the informal enter, the behavior adjustment of the role into the process, and the psychological adjustment of the role adaptation. Relying on the rethink of the transition process of graduates to “school float”, the formation of school has three paradox: the image “school float” is double marginal man of “cultural identity” and “social status”; the phenomenon of “school float” is the buffer zone of transition period youth role transition; the stage of “school float” is the moratorium of graduates.In the end, the study discusses the following two questions: first, if the role of ”school float” is rational? Second, if the stage of “school float” can be a “life event”?...
