Japan’s Primary School Meals After The World War Ii

Japan’s school meals originated in the Meiji 22 years(in 1889),and has been 100 years in history.In order to improve the condition of malnutrition in children after the world war ii, the Japanese government implemented meals within the scope of the national primary school under the assistance of the United States.In 1954,with the purpose to universalize the access and establish the system for meal,the Japanese government formulated the law《to eat》,and by 2014 the implementation rate of the Japan’s national elementary school has been 97% and middle school has been 78.1%. Thus, Japanese school meals universal rate is very high.This study,through the retrospect of the histroy of Japanese elementary school feeding,analyzed the backgrounds,reasons and process of the post-war Japanese elementary school reopening meals; through the elementary school meals management and operation mode,discussed the Japanese elementary school meals feeding ways, feeding guidances, supplies and health managements, etc.School meals was to provide food for primary school students, after the war, the meal cooking methods have had great changes with times.This study, make thearrangement of feeding cookings stage, analysed the overall trend of Japanese primary school feeding food, and through the analysis of the staple food, bread, rice,discussed the backgrounds, the causes of the change of the staple food and the trend of the staple food for dinner in the future. In addition, by sorting the milk feeding history, this study discussed the historical backgrounds of milk feeding, the historical role of milk feeding, and new problems and trends of milk feeding currently. School meals have a close relationship with traditional Japanese food culture, especially in the 2005 after the formulation of "food education basic law",and Japan’s elementary school tended to feed region’s traditional cooking for ele mentary school students.The author,through the on-the-spot investigation for Japanese wakayama city palace miya primary school meals,took palace primary school for example and analyzed the condition of the food for the Japanese elementary school education.
