Since established the first rugby team, our country has 20 years of rugby development, and has opened out his own land and development. After sevens rugby became one sport in Olympic, which brings new opportunities for the development of the project in our country. How to take this chance to explore a development path suited to China’s rugby, so as to realize the long-term development of the project in our country which has profound significance.This paper take the development of Chinese rugby as the research object, use the integrated literature, questionnaire survey and expert interviews ways, studied the professional players and coaches of the group characteristics, team training status and marketization, combining with theoretical analysis, the following conclusions:1. The athletes’ average age is small, mainly at the age of 18 to 20 years old; Most of the players training for 1-2 years and 4-5 years, accounted for 28.6 percentage and 21.5 percentage; transmission channels, universities and provincial sports school accounted for 74.1 percentage.2. Most coaches are university teachers, the education level is higher, coaching motivation is clear; The deficiencies are coaches take part in the less games each year, lack of experience.3. some of the teams lack of Tackle -xiu and clasps, has effect on the combat training; most of teams lack of scrum trainer, to a certain extent restricts the striker scrum technology improvement.4.most of the coaches and players think that the match is held twice a year Sai Hui Zhi restrict the improvement of the competitive athletes, recommended Sai Hui Zhi format and RACES.5.The factors restricting the development of rugby in our country are:(1) the international competition performance is not outstanding; (2) the mass base the imperfection of the echelon construction is weak; (3) the differences in economic development level in different regions influence the balanced development of rugby.Suggestions:(1) strengthening the promotion and the propaganda of rubgy; (2) strengthen the train of talents; (3) enlarge the affection of rugby, promote the development of rugby market.
