With the continuous improvement of modern football competitive level, People have deeply understand the football sports training laws, In football games, the quality requirement of all aspects of the football players is increasing day by day.When the physical quality achieve a certain level, the psychological quality is especially important for a football player. It can affect the normal play level on the field of the players, and even the success or failure of the whole game. So studying the psychological quality of football players is very meaningful. Personality is an important part of psychological quality in players, the psychological training related with athletes personality traits is an important modern football training. This study was to explore the personality characteristics of high levels male football players in colleges and universities, also its related influencing factors are explored, providing suggestions for development of football sports in colleges and universities, and the scientific selection of football athletes,offering some psychological reference basis for athletes.In this study,the method used are as fellow:documentary, expert interview, questionnaire test mathematical statistics, logic analysis and other research methods.applying zhong geng Chen presided over the revised Eysenck personality inventory (adult),and the high level football athletes in colleges and universities includes personal information questionnaire.Questionnaire was applied to high level colleges and universities soccer athletes for investigation of personality characteristic and the personal basic information. Analyzising the personality characteristics and t related influencing factors of high level colleges and universities man football player’s through using SPSS software.The results of the study are as follows:1. High level colleges and universities football athletes are a special crowd with its own unique personality. Compared with the ordinary college students, they are different in emotion, cognition, will and personality.compared with the average person, high level colleges and universities football players appeared outgoing,warm and generous, adventurous, stimulation but sometimes the emotions are instability, they are careless and can not enough focus on problems. The EPQ index of players in different age has no significant difference, but as the growth of the age and training years, the player’s personality will toward one direction. The E score of Masters level athletes, the national first and second class athletes appeares significant difference, The higher the level of players, the more quiet and emotionally stable they are, easily calming down in the field, In different position, the E score of forward and defender group, vanguard group, the goalkeeper also appeares significant differences. The score of forward position players was significantly higher than other three groups, means strong performance desire.2. The N scores of colleges and universities football athletes in family with different conditions has significant difference; The P and N scores of Single-parent families has significant differences with both parents players; The L scores of one-child players has significant difference with more children in their family; Players and coaches communicate with each other a lot, affect the P, N scores a lot; Also, the L scores are diffirent, and the coach deeply affect the formation of personality of players; The different degree of relationship players with teammates, the E scores (inside and outside tropism) are significantly different, as well as the P (psychoticism)scores; The EPQ index of Players born in urban and rural areas has no significant differences.
