Regional culture, often has a subtle impact on our moral culture temperament, character and behavior in an implicit way. The power of culture seems tender and subtle, but profound and last long. In the backgrounds of long and deep-rooted Jinling Culture, my family has lived for hundreds of years. The Jinling Culture has painted the background color to the ethics, values and lifestyles of three generations in my family. This thesis adopts the way of interview, the narrative methods and borrows ideas of anthropological "community study" approach, I started from the individual experience of life of three generations in a family, relatives and neighbors around, from the perspective of education, culture, family and so on, try to explore the inner link between education and individual life experience and influences of three generations’ life experience and education on the fate of the individual. In different historical periods, different levels of education of the three generations, what are their differences in the temperament of moral life, character, view of occupation, view of marriage, family values and views of children education? I try to unveil the mode of thinking and behavior of civilian class in different periods, and explore the meaning and value of education for individuals in Jinling culture perspective. This paper see big things through small ones, from one point to entire area, starting from moral and cultural temperament and family life scene of three generations in a family, trying to extend and reflect the evolution of modern ideas and moral character of a region, a city and all city civilian class in China’s modern time. Therefore, this thesis discusses the meaning and value of life history and oral history study, and summarizes the significance of three generations of different succession mode and different destiny of education on the individual. Finally, I thought of the problem of whether education can change the fate.
