Tragedy is one important pattern of aesthetic. It plays an important role in cultivating the students’ aesthetic sentiment and enhancing their aesthetic taste. Focused on the tragedy from chinese teaching material for middle school, combining the definition and characteristic of tragedy, this article divides tragedy in two aspects from the narrow sense of tragedy and the broad range of tragedy. It distinguishes the tragedy works from those with tragic factors, and briefly summarize the tragedy works in middle school Chinese teaching. In combination with the aesthetic significance of tragedy and middle school Chinese teaching curriculum goal, we get three education significance of tragedy aesthetic teaching:we should strengthen our awareness of potential danger and the sense of responsibility, enrich life experience and think about the meaning of life to stir life passion and gain strength to move forward. This article analyze the weakness of middle school Chinese tragedy aesthetic teaching through the questionnaire survey, mainly from the perspective of students, teachers and teaching reference, and analyze the root cause of the weakness. To solve the weak tragedy aesthetic teaching phenomenon, this article combines the theory of tragedy and tragedy aesthetic teaching to concrete operational and specific teaching strategies from the text interpretation and tragedy aesthetic teaching design.
