| Mind mapping was originated by Tony Buzan, I suppose it’s a good method for thinking: using it, students can effectively improve their logical thinking on geography. Logical thinking is the core of geographical thinking and one of the most important abilities required in High school geography curriculum standard. Applying mind mapping to geography can make geographical knowledge visual, presenting texts and image in the learner’s eyes. This method, aimed at presenting knowledge by drawing out thinking process, enables learners to liberate from the traditional passive learning. Mind mapping can improve students’ logical thinking ability.By referring to the related documents, I find there are not enough researches about improving geographic logical thinking ability by using mind mapping. As a result, I hope to provide a favorable guidance to front-line teachers, for I have enriched connotation of mind mapping in geography teaching.Mind-mapping fit quite well with improving Geographic logical thinking ability, and they have abundant theoretical basis. In order to proving the effectiveness of improving geographic logical thinking ability by using mind mapping, I turn to experimental methodology. I picked two classes, one experimental class, the other comparative class. The former I used mind mapping teaching, the latter traditional teaching. It turn out that mind mapping has great effects on geography teaching, improving students’ geographic logical thinking ability, strengthening students’ creative learning ability, optimizing teachers’ abilities of teaching design and resource integration, as well as optimizing students’cognitive structure. At last, I also reflect on mind mapping applied in different teaching procedures and different lesson types. Meanwhile, I also give suggestions and expectation on using mind mapping. |
