In the wave of market economy and secular culture, the university, as an organization which contacts with the society closely, also has not been able to stay out. However, everything has two sides. From the question of Q ianxuesen--why our university always can not cultivate outstanding talents to today’s confusion of Q ianliqun--what is the purpose of our education? University also falls into mediocrity and vulgarization of the crisis. The intervention of rights、market economy and the vulgar culture all violate the spirit and character of university. In front of the money and rights, university is giving up its academic. The missing of the academic means the lack of the spirit of independence. Whatever, when we compare with the western countries or with the ancient time, we can know that the spirit of independence is very important in university. After realize the lack, the university should improve itself. We should restore the essence of our university,innovate its system and give the cultural attributes to it. Through the above methods, we hope the return to the spirit of independence.
