With the frequent cooperation and interaction worldwide, our country’s economic, political and cultural status has improved gradually. Thus, our country has the urgent need of professional translation talents, especially for the senior translation talents at the professional level. In order to meet the social demands, the cultivation of a large number of high-level translation talents is widely claimed.Nowadays, more and more colleges and universities have set up the Department of translation or school of translation. Translation has gradually become an emerging specialty and subject in China, the program of MTI(Master of Translation and Interpreting) has injected new force of vitality for the Chinese mainland translation career, however, the construction of MTI still has a long way to go, and it is particularly important to standardize the construction of MTI program.This paper tries to analyze the curriculum of MTI programs in Colleges and Universities of Jiangsu province by means of questionnaires and surveys. First, it makes a survey on the characteristics of MTI programs in Colleges and Universities in Jiangsu Province. Secondly, it tries to clarify the problems of it. And finally, this paper attempts to make suggestions from five aspects: step further to establish the training objective, to improve the framework of the curriculum, to focus on the translating and interpreting practice and enhance its practicalness, to renew its teaching contents and make better the teaching methods, and to pay more attention to the improvement of teachers. Hopefully, this paper is capable of putting forward effective suggestions on the development of the curriculum system of MTI programs and teachers, contributing to the construction of MTI programs in mainland China, and advancing the Translation discipline in general and meeting the demands of the society for qualified translating and interpreting graduates.
