Research content and purpose: tapering training is the final period training of significant competition, it is also important for high level athletes to appear and keep optimum performance, especially endurance athletes. Based on training data from men’s kayaking group of national canoeing team, use interview information which domestic and foreign coaches summarize arrangement of tapering training, search relevant literature data, finally, analyse and study 4 times tapering training of domestic and foreign significant competitions. Meanwhile, in order to achieve the level of national canoeing and kayaking team, rowing sport rapid increase and build scientific training platform to provide scientific reference. Methods: This study used track recording method to men’s kayaking group of national canoeing team for seven months follow-up study, a detailed record training load arrangement, then sort and conclude the findings.Results:(1) Days of 4 taper periods are 24 days, 21 days, 29 days and 25 days respectively, average 25 days.(2) During taper period, 3 times of training volume fall(-37%,-2.8% and-34%), 1 time of training volume rise(7.3%), reduction of training volume occurs at non special training.(3) “Adjusting phase”, “loading phase” and “recovering phase” are arranged at each tapering training stage; special training load rises at first then decreases, non special training load decreases overall.(4) During taper period, lessons of low intensity reduces gradually, change of high intensity training lessons centre on special training in loading phase.(5) Only one time of physiology and biochemistry index shows that body condition and athletic performance are at low level.
