Research And Investigation On Parental Involvement In Homework Of Elementary And Middle Students

With the constant improvement and socialization of education, parental involvement homework becomes a common phenomenon. The importance of parental involvement homework is increasingly concerned in foreign countries and gradually becomes a research project. But at home we have rarely relevant research on it. The paper has focusd on the situation of parental involvement in homework, specifically explored the following two questions: how will parent involvement homework be valued? How is the situation of parental involvement homework?To solve the above problems, the paper used the stratified cluster random sampling, implemented a survey “questionnaire of the pupils’ s parental involvement homework situation” for two nine-year schools. The following conclusion is summed up:The frequency of parental involvement is not so much. It is inclined to “offering support”, “regular supervision” ”guidance” “interaction” and “operational feedback”. In a word, the participation is not diversified in its form and content, which are restricted by many factors. The frequency of involvement in single-child family is higher. The higher the grade, the lower the involvement frequency. Parents with higher level of education will also participate more. Parental involvement focuses on different parts according to their children’s performance. The frequency of parental participation in H school is high.The overall effect of parental involvement is good, but the effect by the way of “cultivating independence” “offering support” and “regular supervision ” is the best, and high frequency mode and content also results better, which will be influenced by many factors in effect. The effect of mother’s participation is better. The effect of parental involvement is slightly different between boys and girls. The higher the grade, the worse the effect. It is better if parents with higher level of education. The effect is obvious for students whose performance is so so. The effect is quite good in H school.According to the above, the paper proposes some suggestions to ensure effective participation for parents. Parents should flexibly use different mode and content based on their own ability to participate, students’ s performance and education level. They should actively develop children’s independence of homework. And teachers should encourage parents to enteract with them about the homework effect.
